the story so far
I'm inspired by the vintage materials I find, the concept of reuse, and the process of reworking these into "new" products for people to relove
I've always been drawn to the tactile nature of printed paper, and the process of printing the old fashioned way. The feel of a nice, thick paper stock, the intensity of the ink, the impression of the printing. It all started when I trained as a graphic designer back in the mid-1980s.
Years later, a chance encounter with an 1878 antique atlas in a second hand book shop sealed my fate. I'd never seen
anything that old or beautiful. It was far to amazing to be hidden between the covers of an old book - and in that moment the idea for my business was born.
I design and create products, from vintage paper and fabrics, in my studio located on the Victorian coast.
I love the history, craftsmanship and patina of vintage paper and I remake it into a range of products including:
• vintage prints ready to frame
• envelopes, cards, bunting, garlands and journals
• vintage picture blocks
• limited edition products and DIY kits.
For Autumn/Winter 2013 I'll be releasing a range of accessories and homewares remade from vintage fabrics such as kimono silk and Harris Tweed, and leather reclaimed from the manufacturing industry.
